Glen Gill, 73, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, surrounded by love and comfort.

Born on May 19, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio, Glen was the beloved son of Fred Gill and Mildred Speakman. He was a 1971 graduate of Brookhaven High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Otterbein College in 1975, where he served proudly as the Treasurer of his fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma. His academic journey continued at the University of Iowa, where he obtained a Master of Science in Statistics in 1977.

On December 3, 1991, Glen married the love of his life, Sharon Hutchinson, in Ohio. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to love, partnership, and devotion, and Sharon survives him today with cherished memories of their life together.

Glen lived a life defined by curiosity, compassion, and commitment. He was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, a distinction he carried with deep pride. He often recited the Scout Law from memory, believing in its guiding principles:
"A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent."

His love for the outdoors was reflected in his many adventures-backpacking, canoeing, and traveling to new places whenever he could. Glen was a passionate reader and a dedicated sports enthusiast who could find joy in a good game or a great book.

Professionally, Glen was a man of great intellect and discipline. He earned membership in the Fellow Life Management Institute by completing a rigorous series of ten examinations, exemplifying his dedication to excellence in the life insurance industry.

He was also a proud member of the American Youth Hostels and the Sierra Club, organizations that aligned with his passion for nature, education, and environmental advocacy.

Glen's warm spirit, sharp intellect, and kind heart left an indelible mark on those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon; and his brothers, Leroy Gill and Wayne Gill, his step daughter, Rhonda Cooper and step-son, Rob Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bob Gill.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana, 47130.
A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial to take place at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.

Glen's life was one of purpose, passion, and peace. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever honored.
