Glen Higgs passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at the age of 85 years.
Glen was born in Nappan Station, Nova Scotia in 1940. He served in the Canadian Military in various cities across Canada and Germany. Once completing his military service, he worked for the Tom Baker Cancer Centre for 21 years. After retirement, Glen and Gloria stayed in Calgary, then later moved to Airdrie. Glen loved to play bingo and enjoyed his incredible stamp collection. He also joined the Veterans Brotherhood Canada motorcycle group at the young age of 78 years old and enjoyed his day trips and overnight trips on his Can Am Spyder three-wheeler motorcycle. Glen also enjoyed his morning coffee with the seniors Walmart Coffee Group.
Glen is survived by his sons, Mike (Bev) Higgs of Calgary, Alberta and Troy Higgs of Middleton, Nova Scotia; grandchildren Zachary Higgs of Aylesford, Nova Scotia, Kayla and Madilyn Higgs of Middleton, Nova Scotia as well as Julian Cote of Lake Louise, Alberta; sister, Joella (Mike Dale) Higgs of Pugwash, Nova Scotia; sisters-in-law, Joan Higgs of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia and Gerri Beaulieu of Chiliwack, BC; niece, Debbie Higgs of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. As well as Diane (Bernie) Reid of Cambridge, Ontario.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria; parents, Howard (Margaret) Higgs; parents-in-law, Arnold (Jean) Smith and brother Charles of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Glen at Pierson's Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 - 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
