Norfolk - Glen Allen Popard, age 81, passed away on March 20, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia. Born on June 19, 1943, in the heart of Indiana, Glen lived a life filled with adventure, dedication, and love.
A proud veteran, Glen served his country with honor as a member of the United States Marine Corps and is a Vietnam War Vet. After his service, he continued to exhibit a tireless work ethic throughout his career as an auto mechanic, where his expertise and attention to detail were well respected by all who knew him.
Glen had a lifelong passion for motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson's. His adventurous spirit led him and his cherished wife, Norma Jean (Gibbany) Smith, on countless long bike trips, including their memorable journey along Route 66 to Arkansas and back. Known for always tinkering on different projects, Glen's hands were rarely still, whether working in his garage or planning his next ride.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Jeanette (Struyf) Popard, a sister, a brother, and two children. Glen is survived by his devoted wife, Norma Jean, his five children, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. His legacy of love and strength will continue to live on through them.
No services are planned at this time. In lieu of gatherings, the family encourages those who knew Glen to take a moment to reflect on a life well-lived, filled with the open road, the hum of a motorcycle engine, and the enduring bonds of family and friendship.
