Glen Verl Roberson Sr

Glen Verl Roberson Sr., entered into his eternal home at the age of 93, on March 17, 2026, in Florence, Alabama. Born on May 7, 1933, in Wayne County, Tennessee, Glen was the beloved son of John Henry and Viola Roberson.

Glen’s life was marked by steadfast dedication and a deep commitment to those he loved and to the work he carried out with honor. A member of the Local 48 Sheet Metal Workers Union for an impressive 71 years, Glen was also a veteran who served his country with distinction in the United States Army during the Korean War. His career alongside the Tennessee Valley Authority and his union work reflected a strong work ethic and pride in his craft that left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Beyond his professional life, Glen was a man of the land who loved farming and tended to cattle for many years. He found joy and solace in the simple pleasures of life—relaxing and fishing, activities that brought him peace and contentment. Above all, Glen treasured time spent with his cherished family. For 71 years, he shared a loving partnership with his wife, Emma Jo Roberson. His heart was full with his children—daughter Shelia Daniel, sons Jerry Roberson (Alice) and Jr. Roberson (Sherry)—as well as his ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy.

Glen was preceded in death by his loving parents, John Henry and Viola Roberson; his siblings Walter, Wayland, and Bill Roberson; his sister Lizzy Stults; his daughter Janice Pulley; his son Ronnie Roberson; and his grandson Jason Roberson. Their memories live on in the hearts of those he left behind.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Glen’s life will be held on March 20, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Railroad Cemetery, located at 125 Pleasant Springs Church Road, Iron City, Tennessee. Family, friends, and members of the community are invited to gather and pay their respects to a man whose life was defined by love, service, and enduring dedication.
