Glena Alfaretta Wornek Davis

Glena Alfaretta Wornek Davis, age 93, died of natural causes, 21 September 2025 at her daughter's home in Pocatello with her two daughters by her side.

Glena was born on 17 September 1932 to John Milton Wornek, Jr and Fern Alfaretta Brown in Mackay, Idaho. She was the couple's third child. They lived in May, Idaho for the first three years until the family moved to Blackfoot in 1935. She attended School at Wapello, Elmwood and Irving Elementary Schools and Blackfoot Junior High. The family moved to Salmon in 1946 where she attended and graduated from Salmon High School.

Glena married Melvin Clarence Davis on 22 May 1949 in Salmon, Idaho. They lived in Albion and Pocatello while her husband attended college. Following graduation, they lived a short time in Mackay, Salmon, and Bancroft. They purchased land and built a home in Blackfoot where they raised three daughters. Glena was a gracious wife and mother, Household Engineer, and the Assistant Manager of the Blackfoot Teachers Credit Union for 25 years.

Hundreds of girls were blessed through Glena's 25 years of service in the Girl Scouting Program. She served as a Leader, Neighborhood Chairman, Camp committee Chairman, Secretary, Day Camp Director, Service Team Member, Organizer, Consultant, and Trainer.

She is a member of the Jason Lee Memorial Methodist Church. She has served on the Finance Committee, Administrative Board, and as Offerings Steward. She served as Secretary-Treasurer, and on Program Resources and Social Action Committees of the United Methodist Women.

Glena enjoyed gardening, reading, embroidery, cross stitch, camping, cribbage, puzzles and corresponding with family and lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers-Lynn Dale and John Delbert Wornek, and daughter Dalene Davis Keller Cox.

She is survived by two daughters Sherrie Davis Wilson (Kenneth) Kunze (Harold), Blackfoot, and Katharine Davis Jorgensen (Duaine Paulsen), Pocatello, 8 grandchildren-Joshua Wilson (Melissa), Melena Christopherson, Zachariah Wilson (Hanneke), Lynette Paulsen, Rebecca Chatterton, Kasey Jorgensen (Brenda), Trisha Garr (Forrest), and Misti Cox and 18 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Jason Lee Memorial Methodist Church in Blackfoot on 11 October 2025 at 11 am. Marvin Jones will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
