Glenda M. Brandon, 91, of Woodstock, VA and formerly of Sparta, IL passed away on August 13, 2025 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock, VA. She was born on September 6, 1933 in Sparta, IL to Thomas & Bernice Rust. Glenda married Joseph Brandon on March 22, 1952 and he preceded her in death on March 19, 2010.

Glenda is survived by her daughter – Nancy (Richard) Paull of Griffin, GA and three sons – Joe (Terri) Brandon of Woodstock, VA, Larry (Amy) Brandon of Marietta, GA, and Robert (April) Brandon of Edwardsville, IL. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother – Leo Rust; daughter & son-in-law – Susan (Joe) Moore.

Glenda Loved her family and her hometown of Sparta, IL. Growing up in a country setting, she cherished peace and tranquility. This led to Glenda's strong-willed personality. In her younger days, Glenda loved Saturday night dancing with her husband, Joe, while in the company of their best friends. She also enjoyed visiting casinos and going on driving vacations. Later in life, she enjoyed playing BINGO, reading, and daily viewing of her favorite soap opera The Young and the Restless.

Memorial Graveside Services will be held at Union Cemetery in Sparta, IL on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Friends and family are asked to meet at Union Cemetery for services.

Heishman Funeral Service of Woodstock, VA and Heil-Schuessler & Sinn Funeral Home of Sparta, IL are assisting the family with arrangements.
