Glenda "Kaye" Gammon, 70, of Beaumont, died Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on April 21, 1953, to Lizzie "Mae" Penry Isbell and George Washington "Dood" Isbell, in Beaumont.
Kaye graduated from French High School in 1971 and from Sam Houston State University in 1974. She retired from the Government, working in Customs and then the DEA for many years. She was also a member of Wesley Methodist Church in Beaumont. Kaye deeply loved her family, was a soccer enthusiast, avid reader, and loved to play Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who would get down on the ground and be silly with her grandchildren and her sons when they were young (sometimes when they were older as well). She enjoyed baking for family, friends, and coworkers whenever she had the opportunity. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Survivors include her mother, Lizzie "Mae" Isbell of Beaumont; sons, Jeffrey Wayne Gammon and his wife, Kristen, of Xenia, Ohio and Justin Matthew Gammon of Beaumont; grandchildren, Shiloh Evan Gammon, Chaya Elizabeth Gammon, and Tristan Matthew Gammon.
She is preceded in death by her father, George W. "Dood" Isbell; sister, Sheryl L. Kling; and brother-in-law, Thomas J. Kling.
A memorial service for Ms. Gammon will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2024, at Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her cremation arrangements were handled through Broussard's Crematorium.

God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I have many memories of Kaye at Sam Houston State University and as a Kappa Delta Sister. She was good to keep in touch over the years. She will be missed. Rest in Peace, Kaye.
