Glenda Diane was born on October 5, 1942 to William Franklin and Hattie Alice (Anderson) Juracek in Wausa, Nebraska. She grew up in Wausa and graduated from Wausa High School in 1960. She attended one year at Northeast Technical Community College in Norfolk. Glenda married LeRoy Arnold Hansen on May 26, 1961 in Wausa. Glenda worked at the Ben Franklin store for about five years and then she worked for 24 years at Pizza Hut in Hartington.
Glenda was member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She helped at the Lutheran fair stand at the Cedar County Fair. She loved to golf and she played in the Woman’s league and golfed in many couples tournaments with LeRoy over the years. Her golf saying “hit the ball” was said many times. Glenda was everyone’s “favorite” aunt. She enjoyed watching her boys in their high school football and basketball games. She loved traveling with LeRoy on eight cruises, several train trips and four tour bus trips. She and LeRoy volunteered at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton for several years. Glenda also liked helping at the Resthaven Cemetery in Wichita during Memorial Day weekend. She enjoyed their family reunions, many at Arbor Lodge. She loved the Wausa smorgasbord celebration.
Most of all, Glenda was the perfect mother for their daughter Leah. Leah’s cerebral palsy required her to live in Wayne since she was four years old. Glenda and LeRoy would make regular trips to Wayne and Bloomfield to visit Leah for the past 54 years, never once failing to make that drive. She loved her family and her grandchildren.
Glenda is survived by her husband LeRoy of Hartington; two sons Joel (Heather) Hansen of Omaha, Mark (Erin) Hansen of Wichita, KS, daughter Leah Hansen of Bloomfield; five grandchildren Annie (Dan) Larson, Emma (Charlie) Butler, Meghan (Keanu) Landolt, Brooke (Nash) Neptune, Jacob (Madison) Hansen; two great grandchildren Scarlett and Bobby Scott; three siblings Marlene DeRosa of NY, Lauren (Eldon) Jaracek of Omaha, Richard “Butch” (Sharlene) Juracek of Norfolk; several favorite nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Hattie Juracek; a sister Blondell; two nephews Jeff DeRosa and Kurt Juracek.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hansen family which will be used towards the benefit of Cerebral Palsy.
