Glenda Bradshaw Smith, 76, passed away on December 6, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Louise Harris and Nathaniel Herman Bradshaw, Jr., and was predeceased by her devoted husband of 47 years, Earl Carter Smith.
Glenda is survived by her two nieces, Arlene Smith and Lisa S. Tarkington and her husband, Steve, along with their children and grandchildren. She is also survived by her aunt Hazel White and husband Jimmy and family; her aunt Flossie Fowler and husband David and family. The family offers special thanks to her cousin and caregiver Sharon Presson, and to caregiver and friend Ruth Sharp, for their love, support, and compassionate care over the last several years.
A lifelong and active member of Liberty Spring Christian Church, Glenda lived her faith through service. She retired from Social Services and devoted many years as a member of the Nansemond-Suffolk Volunteer Rescue Squad, where she built lasting friendships and touched countless lives.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Liberty Spring Christian Church, officiated by Pastor Res Spears. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Liberty Spring Christian Church, 4213 Whaleyville Blvd., Suffolk, VA 23434.
