Marvin "Glenn" Bailey, age 78, of
Conroe, Texas, passed away on February 16, 2025. Glenn was born in Navasota, Texas, to parents Weldon and Ovis Bailey on August 12, 1946. Glenn was raised in Madisonville, Texas, graduating from Madisonville High School in 1964. He spent much of his childhood at the Bailey Swimming Pool operated by his late grandparents, Ben and Bessie Bailey. He played basketball in high school as a guard and was later an avid fan of college basketball. He never failed to fill in the brackets for March Madness! Glenn was also voted as Senior Class Favorite at Madisonville High School. He attended Sam Houston State University and received his degree in Business Administration in 1968. He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. After graduating from college and serving in the U. S. Army Reserves, he married Jan Reeder on June 7, 1969. Glenn began his work career as a salesman for Travelers Insurance. He then worked for several years as a sales representative for Sinclair Oil, which later became Arco Oil Company. In 1974, Glenn opened his own business, Glenn Bailey Company, his entry into the paving business. Glenn continued to teach himself everything there was to know about asphalt and concrete construction. Ascrete, Inc., was created on October 16, 1978. Glenn's expertise and popularity in the paving business continued to grow. He served as President of the Houston Asphalt Pavers Association from 1985-86. Glenn remained active as owner and President of his business until January, 2024, when he retired due to declining health and passed the operation of Ascrete, Inc., on to his son, Ben, and good friend, Kevin Crawford. Glenn is survived by his wife, Janis Reeder Bailey; son, Russell Benjamin Bailey; brother, Wendell Bailey; Sister-In-Law, Ronnie Bailey; nephew, Wade Bailey; and nieces Jennifer Burns and Cathy Vasquez. Glenn leaves behind many special friends including Kevin Crawford, Chad McKinney, Alan Shealey, Ricardo Ortiz, Linda Reeder, Gary and Paula Dossett, Kristen Arthur, his ATO Brotherhood, and The Madisonville High School Class of "64. Jan and Ben wish to acknowledge the loving care provided to Glenn by the staff of the Ultimate Care Personal Care Home and Hope Beyond Hospice. Dementia Society of America. Glenn Bailey was a wonderful husband, a loving father, and a loyal friend. He will be missed. A celebration of Glenn's life will be held at El Bosque Tex Mex Grill, 1111 West Dallas St.,
