Glenn Bluhm Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, Sandusky Chapel on Jun. 4, 2025.
Glenn Bluhm, 74, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025 with his son by his side after several years of illness.
Glenn was born on January 4, 1951. His parents were Lavern and Eltheia (Bickley) Bluhm.
A 1969 graduate of Sandusky High School, he studied guitar at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Making a career as a professional musician, he was an accomplished performer and educator. He was known throughout the region as a brilliant jazz and classical guitarist, most recently alongside his son in the flute and guitar duo "Silver and Strings." Having started teaching guitar as a high school student, Glenn was just beginning his 60th year teaching guitar lessons. In 2015 he was initiated as an Honorary Member of the Beta Xi Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a national fraternal society in music, in recognition for his long and dedicated service to teaching and sharing music with the people of the region. He was a quiet man of music with a gentle soul and a kind heart.
He is survived by his son, Jaz Wallace (Samantha) Bluhm, of Bluffton, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and very dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maureen "Reni" (Murphy) Bluhm; and his parents.
There will be a Celebration of Life to be held on Sunday, June 15 from 2-6 pm at the American Legion Post 83 in Sandusky. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Glenn's memory to your local music program of choice.
