Glenn J. “Bud” Statezny, Sr. of Antigo passed away on October 20, 2025 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was 90 years old.

Bud was born on May 20, 1935 in Crandon to the late Paul and Nina (Feight) Statezny. He was united in marriage to Joan Loka on December 28, 1957. She preceded him in death on January 27, 2001. He was united in marriage to Kathy Gilbert Gallenberg on May 18, 2003 at St. Wencel’s Catholic Church in Neva. She survives.

Bud completed his education in the 8th grade at the one room Range Line School in Crandon in 1949. Bud went on to work in various industries including masonry, construction, and for a majority of his career, logging.

He was a faithful member of Ss. Mary and Hyacinth’s Catholic Church. Bud loved the outdoors, whether it was hunting or fishing. He proudly hunted for 77 years, getting at least one deer every season and hunting up until just last year. When he wasn’t in the woods, he could be found crafting fishing lures. He was known for being able to fix anything with duct tape. Even more well known, was Bud’s talent for cooking. His friends and family could always count on him for a good meal, especially his sauerkraut and famous chicken.

In addition to his wife Kathy, Bud is survived by daughters Julie Statezny and Kathy (Kris) Stanke, sons Donald (Cheryl) Statezny, David Statezny, Glenn Jr. (Tammy) Statezny, and Doug (Kim) Statezny, step sons Nick Gallenberg, Bradley (Sarah) Gallenberg, and Jeremy (Deb) Gallenberg, grandchildren Nicole, Lucas, William Jr, Courtney, Kaitlin, Michael, Lacey, Brianna, Braden, Mary, Claire, Lily, Genevieve, Dionne, Danyelle, and Hector, 19 great grandchildren, and a brother-in-law Mike Hamblin.

In addition to his parents and first wife Joan, Bud was preceded in death by a son Bill, granddaughters Dori and Ashley, grandson Paul, sisters Grace (Earl) Mullins, Betty (Ted Kulinski and Bill Brigham),  and Ila “Babe” Hamblin, brothers Ervin (Hazel) Statezny, Merle (Marion) Statezny, Johnnie (Alma) Statezny, and Melvin (Carol Jean) Statezny.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Ss. Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home.
