Glenn DeHan Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 9, 2025.
On Thursday, October 2, 2025, Glenn Moss DeHan Jr. left this world to be with his Lord and Savior with his family by his side in Dallas, Texas. Born on October 30, 1946, to Glenn and Doreatha DeHan, Glenn was raised in Memphis, Tennessee, and attended Whitehaven High School. He went on to graduate from Mississippi State University before joining the United States Marine Corps, where he served in the Vietnam Conflict and ultimately earned the rank of Captain.

Glenn met the love of his life, Halita Sue (Holt), in Little Rock, Arkansas, and they were married on November 23, 1973. Together, they raised two children, Stephen and Laura, in Maumelle, Arkansas. Glenn was instrumental in the municipal incorporation of Maumelle, serving as a member of the city's first city council and later as Mayor. In his retirement, he moved to Dallas to be closer to his children and grandsons.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Halita. He is survived by his sister, Stephanie Lockett (Jerry), his two brothers, Rodger (Debi) and Woody, his son, Stephen (Julie), and his daughter, Laura Grundy (Brad). He also leaves behind three cherished grandsons-Braysen, Brock, and Britton Grundy-and three grand-dogs: Kona, Stella, and Chloe.

Glenn will be laid to rest beside Halita at Milum Cemetery in Lead Hill, Arkansas during a private graveside service at a later date.

He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his service to his country and community, and his warm, generous spirit. Glenn's legacy lives on in the lives of those he touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Semper Fi & America's Fund, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, or a favorite nonprofit of your choice.
