Cumberland, MD-Glenn Wayne Geary, 93, of Cumberland, MD passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born August 18, 1931 in McCoole, MD, Mr. Geary was the son of the late Edward Thomas Geary and Geraldine Margaret (Spence) Geary. He was also preceded in death by his brother: John Geary; and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Glenn was the former co-owner of Sunshine Laundromat and was a driver for the Celanese Trucking division for several years. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and attended the First Baptist Church.
Glenn and his wife, Shirley were married for 74 years and they loved spending time with family and attending all of their grandson's and great grandchildren's activities.
Glenn is survived by his wife: Shirley L. (Livengood) Geary; his daughter: Karen Sue Irons and husband, Bruce; his grandsons: Jeremy Irons and wife, Meredith; and Jonathan Irons and wife, Alyssa; his great grandchildren: Dylan, Adalynn, Bryson, and Brennan Irons; his nieces: Carole Livengood; and Sandy Armstrong and husband, Bill; his nephews: Dr. John Livengood; and Mark Livengood and wife, Kathy; and his life-long friend: Tom Woods.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD on Tuesday March 4, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. with Pastors Randall Larry and David Hattenfield officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Irons, Jonathan Irons, Dylan Irons, Bryson Irons, Brennan Irons, Daniel Armstrong, and Jonathan Rebuck.
The Geary family would like to thank our special caregivers for the compassion and love that they have shown to our family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in his name to the Union Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 1614, Cumberland, MD, or to the First Baptist Church, 212 Bedford Street, Cumberland, MD 21502.
