Glenn Miller Obituary

Glenn T. Miller, 66, of Butler, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, with his loving wife by his side.
Born Oct. 7, 1959, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Richard J. Miller and the late Gloria (Thompson) Miller.
Glenn was a 1979 graduate of Moniteau High School, and then went on to earn his associate degree from Butler County Community College, his bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University, and his diploma from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.
Glenn was a third generation funeral director at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, where he served his community for most of his life. He was on the BC3 board of trustees since 1997, his proudest accomplishment. Glenn had 40 years of service with the Butler Township Volunteer Fire Department, where he held every position except chief, which was by choice. He was also a member of multiple Masonic groups, the Butler Area Street Machine Association, the Butler County Chamber of Commerce, and various other civic organizations throughout Butler County. Glenn will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Leslie (Anderson) Miller, whom he married Sept. 11, 1998; his sister-in-law, Jackie Vaughn and her husband, Jay; his brother-in-law, Tim Anderson and his wife, Gemma; and several nieces and nephews. He is further survived by two sisters.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Richard Anderson; his mother-in-law, Ann Anderson; his niece, Jayme Vaughn; and his two beloved beagles, Bailey and Juneau.
MILLER - Family and friends of Glenn T. Miller, who died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, at the funeral home, with Pastor David Janz, of First United Methodist Church, officiating.
He will be laid to rest in North Side Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, kindly consider memorial donations in Glenn's name to either Butler County Community College, 107 College Drive, Butler, PA 16002, or First United Methodist Church, 1802 N. Main St. Extension, Butler, PA 16001.

May the awareness of the love and joy that Glenn always gave to his family, friends and our entire community bring you comfort! I will miss his kindness that he showed me while he helped me get through so many "Goodbyes" to my family members and friends. His unique sense of humor and genuine gift of caring will always be in my heart and memory. I selfishly think, "How will I get through my next loss without him"!

So sorry for your loss. Glenn was such a wonderful soul. He helped me through the hardest time of my life. The loss of my husband at a young age. All these years later Glenn still gave me a big hug every time he saw me. Greg knew him well through the fire service. He was just such a nice guy.

Glen would always walk by my cabinet shop and he would stop and we would chat about our Beagle stories as we were both proud parents of Beagles.
We would also compare and trade corny jokes! My dear friend will be greatly missed! Laus Deo Glen

I knew Glenn all the way back from Moniteau high school band. Then he was our photographer for our wedding in 1988. We reconnected in church at FUMC. He was still the funny guy I knew in high school. I still am trying to wrap my head around the fact that he is gone. He was taken much too soon, but is now rejoicing with Jesus. Praying that God wraps his arms around Glenn's family and helps them through his difficult time.

I´ve known Glenn since we were kids. As a young boy he was so nice to me and made friends so easily. I always remembered this about him. He had the gift to make you laugh and feel included. He spent his whole life doing this. My condolences to his family.

Glenn was a gentle, kind man with a sense of humor. We met thru Butler Area Street Machines. He helped us with our final arrangements, and he said then that he was not looking forward to being around for my funeral. Sadly, he won't. I pray for comfort and peace for your family

Dear Leslie,
Memories of Glenn will live on in my heart. Spending time with Glenn when I worked in hospice, painting his office, sharing his love of beagles, and spending time with you in our nursing career and friendship.
I still tell stories of Glenn today. His sense of humor, his compassion, his love and kindness. May the testimonies of his life bring you comfort in your time of grief and celebration of his life.
Love,
Lauran

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Glenn's family. His kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. As a pet parent himself, he understood the grief and pain of losing a beloved companion. He handled the cremation of three of my dogs, and even took the time to put a few of my German shepherd's ashes in a cremation necklace. He firmly believed that our pets are waiting to greet us in heaven, and shared with me the story of the rainbow and eagle that appeared after he and his wife lost their dear Bailey. You will be missed, Glenn. I'd be willing to bet that every beloved pet that you treated with compassion and respect were there to greet you along with Juneau and Bailey. Rest in peace. You left us much too soon.

I'm incredibly sad to hear of Glenn's passing. He was our wedding photographer back in 1992 and I treasure those pictures everyday. I often saw him at Natili North or other local restaurants where we would chat. I always enjoyed his sense of humor and quick wit.
My deepest sympathies to everyone who loved him. He will be missed.

I am very sorry to hear of Glenn´s passing.
I have fond memories of working with him at the former Fisher Big Wheel. He also played Santa Claus. He was always full of fun, happiness and laughter, that was spread to those around him. I will always cherish the memories.
Thinking of your family during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.

I can say with absolute certainty, that Glenn was the funniest funeral director that I have ever met. No matter the circumstances, he always found a way to lighten my heart, with a cute story, a subtle look of whimsy, or a devilish joke delivered with perfect execution. He enjoyed hearing a good joke as well as telling them. I will be hard pressed to remember him without smiling, just a bit. You are in my prayers Leslie. God bless.

I knew him for years, at first at my church (St. Andrews UP church) and then as a dear friend who cremated many dogs of mine and my brother Jack also. He was a wonderful man, compassionate and caring and I admired him so much. He will be missed by all, in the community and by friends like me, who loved him very much

For many, many years I have treasured your friendship, generosity and trust, enjoyed that jovial attitude, silly jokes, your playtime with Bailey and Juneau but most of all, I will always remember the bond you have with your wife Leslie.
