Born June 23, 1941 in East Lynn, Missouri to Richard Neal and Neva Lois (Jeffrey) Overturf. Glenn graduated from Timber Township High School in Glasford, IL in 1959. He enlisted in the Army in 1959 with training in Fort Hood, TX. After training he was transferred to the 48th Infantry in Worms, Germany. Following the Army, Glenn was hired by the Rock Island Railroad in Blue Island, IL. He worked for the Rock Island Railroad (promoted to Engineer) until it closed its doors in 1980. Glenn saved many lives as a volunteer firefighter & EMT in Bartonville, IL. This was the beginning of his service to others. In 1981, he married the love of his life, Betsy Blair on October 17th. Later that year, he joined a waste company in Oklahoma City, OK throwing trash and working up the ladder to become District Manager for Waste Management, traveling various states & retiring in North Dakota in 2004. While in North Dakota, Glenn worked with the First Lady of ND, Mikey Hoeven, to develop Christmas in July, a project to rehabilitate homes for the disabled, elderly and single mothers. He was called to Louisiana to assist a waste company in Shreveport, retiring again in 2005 & then started his own Waste Consulting Company and stepping aside in 2019.

Glenn was a member & former president of the Midyett Class at Bossier City First United Methodist Church. He served on many church committees and boards and enjoyed his church friends and helping others, especially the Ramp Project & working with others to build ramps for disabled/handicapped residents to allow safe exit/entrance to their homes. He was active in the Bossier City Lion's Club.

Glenn enjoyed playing golf, game nights with friends traveling with Betsy and many friends to various fun locations. Glenn and Betsy always enjoyed family gatherings with their children, Brenda Owens & Rusty Overturf and grandchildren, Joshua Dukett, Simon Overturf, Sam Overturf and Ike Overturf.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy (Jud) Schwindenhammer. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Betsy; daughter Brenda (Terry) Owens; son, Rusty Overturf (partner Maggie Cluck); sister Doris (Jim) McClintock; brother Rob Overturf (partner, Carol Williamson); Brother-in-laws W Hale (Jane) Blair & Thomas (Elizabeth) Blair; Sister-in-law Julie Menghini and many nieces and nephews.
