Glenn Shoop Obituary

Glenn was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years and high school sweetheart Sally Lou (Streby) Shoop, his parents, and his brother Don Shoop.
He was a member of Klondike Church in Pensacola, FL and he resided at Azalea Trace.
He graduated from Lehman High School (Canton, OH), began his college career at Baldwin Wallace College and earned his BA from Kent State University (Kent, OH). He was a great athlete, playing football, baseball and basketball through high school, and football in college until he tore his ACL. After college Glenn volunteered for the Army Active Reserve.
He spent his working life in Columbus, OH as a chemist, working at Battell Memorial Institute and Chemical Abstracts.
He is a self-published author, releasing No More Excuses, Now anyone can understand the Bible, which can be purchased on Amazon. He loved the Bible and wanted everyone to share in it's wisdom and love, hopefully leading to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Because of his yielding of life to the Lordship of Jesus, Glenn now resides in heaven, his forever home.
Glenn is survived by his sons Brian (Brenda) and Duane, his sister Ruby June Neff, his five grandchildren Scott (Andie), Emily (Joshua), Hannah, Sarah and Jesse (Hannah), and eight great grandchildren Moriah, Eden, Emmaus, Salem, Havilah, Ellie, Owen and Louise. Also his nieces and nephews, Cheryl, Bruce, Lorraine, Doug, and Jackie.
The celebration service will be held Tuesday September 9, 2025 at Klondike Church located at 7201 Klondike Road, Pensacola, FL 32526. Visitation is from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm. The celebration of life service will begin at 1:00 with a burial happening immediately after at the Klondike Cemetery on the church grounds.
