Glenna Coffee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harwood Cremation and Funeral Services - Canon City on Jan. 15, 2024.
On January 14, 2024, Glenna Marie Coffee joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven to spend eternity with Jesus
Glenna was born in Springer, New Mexico to Glenn and Oletta Coffee on March 15, 1936. She spent her early childhood years with her family on a farm near Abbott, New Mexico.
When Glenna was twelve years old, she was stricken with Polio and her family moved to Hot Springs, New Mexico (now known as Truth or Consequences) to a hospital where she spent several months in treatment with healing therapy in the natural hot mineral water. She spent the next few years in a full leg and arm brace. With her strong determination, she overcame her disability. Glenna's family then relocated to Westcliffe, Colorado in 1946, where she attended school and graduated from Custer County High School in 1952.
Shortly after graduation, Glenna married James L. Gierhart. Glenna and Jim made their home in Canon City, Colorado, and had two wonderful children together, a son, Morris and a daughter Charlin. She loved country music and played a mean Piano! She loved growing house plants and grew the most beautiful African Violets. She also enjoyed crafts and had a large collection of clocks. Later in life, she battled and beat cancer.
Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Damian Stiel, and brother Curtis. She is survived by the love of her life, her children Morris (Terry) and Charlin Stiel; grandsons Preston Stiel and J.T. Gierhart; granddaughters Shanna (Mitch) Patterson and Dawn (Jake) Domer; and great grandchildren Preston Stiel, Eli and Ema Domer, Abi Patterson, and Taylie Gierhart; brothers Ray (Kay) Coffee and Larry (Cindy) Coffee; sisters Debbie (Joe) Burke and Elaine (Leonard) Brady.
We love and miss you Mom, "Mammer" and Sis.
Rest in Peace until we meet again.
At her request, there will be no service.
