Glinn Shindler Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 3, 2025.
Glinn R. Shindler passed away on August 18, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on November 1, 1941, Glinn lived a life filled with hard work, family, and a deep love for the outdoors-especially fishing.
An avid fisherman, Glinn found peace and joy casting a line, particularly at his favorite spot behind the dam at Lake Texoma. Just days before his passing, he hoped to visit that cherished place once more. It was his wish that his ashes be scattered there, where he spent many of his happiest moments.
Glinn worked for several years as a concrete finisher in Denison, Texas, before moving to Oklahoma, where he built a long career at Dayton Tire as a tire builder for over 30 years. During that time, he and his wife purchased a small farm and became active members of the Mustang Round Up Club. From 1988 to 1989, Glinn served as the club's president, ran the concession stand, helped organize rodeo stock, participated in parades, and hosted community cookouts.
He was a car enthusiast through and through. He proudly owned a 1998 one-ton Dodge Dually, colored a deep amethyst, which he purchased new and maintained meticulously-its original engine still running strong at 115,000 miles. His son will now carry on that legacy. Glinn's love of cars dated back to his youth; he picked up his wife for their first date in a 1957 Plymouth convertible.
Glinn is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Ruth Shindler; children, Sherrie Gale Crusha and Michael Ray Shindler (Roni); grandchildren, Dewayne Keith Shindler (Desiree), Cody Lane Shindler, and Victor Shane Crusha great-granddaughter, Isabella; sister, Minne Lou Mosteller and her husband Gary; and his aunt, Joyce Beashears.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Odus and Minnie Lorraine Shindler; brothers, James Herman Shindler and Thomas Bell Shindler; and sisters, Linda Joyce Springs and Millie Mae Steel.
Glinn will be remembered for his love of family, dedication to his work, and the quiet joy he found in life's simple pleasures-especially a good day at the lake with a fishing pole in hand.
