BISSONNETTE, Gloria Ann (Hawk) – of Otisville, MI, age 90, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 PM Friday, June 6, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Cremation will take place following the Mass. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 12-1 PM Friday, June 6, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed 6 PM Thursday, June 5, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in Gloria's memory.
Gloria was born in Flint, MI on May 3, 1935, daughter of the late Samuel and Anna (Ribarchik) Hawk. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Flint, MI Class of 1953. Gloria began her professional career in 1955 when she started working for General Motors, where she spent 36 years dedicated to her role. She retired in 1991 as an Executive Secretary, having supported various plant managers with unwavering commitment and grace. On October 9, 1982, Gloria married the love of her life, Jerome Bissonnette, Jr., in a beautiful ceremony in Flint, MI. Together, they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and memories that will last forever. Gloria's life was marked by her passions and interests. She adored traveling, whether it was on an exciting cruise, a trip to Las Vegas, or a shopping adventure with her beloved Industrial Business Girls bus trips. Gloria was a skilled Bingo player and always looked forward to time spent with friends and family, where her warmth and generosity left a lasting impression. She attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she found great peace in her faith. Gloria was known for her fierce independence and strength of character. She faced life's challenges head-on and was a woman of resilience and determination. Gloria leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Jerome Bissonnette, Jr.; 2 daughters, Kellie (Anthony) Capone and Brigid O'Leary; 5 grandchildren, Nicyia (Josh) Orr, Cassandra Mannon, Anthony (Samantha) Capone, Zachary (Beth) Mannon and David (Kathryn) Capone; 9 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; 2 sisters, Marilyn Rutledge and Joyce Lewondowski; 5 brothers-in-law, James (Becky) Bissonnette, John Bissonnette, Paul (Eva) Bissonnette, Michael (Tracey) Bissonnette and Russell Olsey; many loving nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Anna Hawk; parents-in-law, Jerome and Lucille Bissonnette; brother, Donald (Lillian) Hawk; brother-in-law, Alan Rutledge; 5 sisters-in-law, Ruth (Robert) Marshall, Theresa Bissonnette, Rosemary Olsey, Linda (Wayne) Olsen and Paula Bissonnette.
