Gloria Caven

Gloria Caven 72, of Maquoketa, IA passed away on August 5, 2025. Her family has granted her wishes of cremation and a private Family Service at a later date. Gloria was born to George and Emily Caes of Baldwin, IA. Gloria attended schools in Monmouth, Baldwin and Maquoketa, IA. She worked at United Clinical Laboratories in Dubuque for 47 years. Gloria married Jerry Van Vors in December of 1971, and they had one son, David Van Vors. Later, she married John Caven of Maquoketa in October of 1986. They had two children, Johnora and Daniel, who were born to this union. Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be forever reflected in the love and memories shared by all. Those left to honor her memory are her husband John Caven; children, Dave (Shannon) Van Vors of Center Point, Johnora (Ryan) Renner of Maquoketa and Dan Caven of Chicago, IL. Also, six grandchildren: Jordan VanVors and Madison (Kole) Tupa, Reo, Royal, Rue, and Rye Renner; as well as her sisters, Delores Current of Monmouth and Helen Schnoor of Maquoketa; in-laws, Sam and Mary Caven; and several brothers and sister-in-law.
