Gloria M. Decker

On August 21, 2025, Gloria M. Decker (nee Kassab) passed away peacefully in her apartment just shy of her 100th birthday. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Gloria has been a resident of Echelon Towers in Voorhees for almost 30 years. During World War II, it was with great pride that Gloria served her country in the US Army. After receiving her honorable discharge, she raised her three children as a homemaker until 1966 when she entered the workforce working at several jobs to support her family, Gloria loved discussing politics, watching MSNBC and Philadelphia sports daily, and especially loved the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles. She was also an accomplished letter writer and gourmet cook. She never visited anyone without bringing a delicious dessert. But her special gift was laughter. She could always find the humor in any situation, and wherever she went, laughter always followed.

Gloria was predeceased by her parents, Issac and Mae Kassab; her three brothers, William, Raymond and Louis Kassab as well as her two sisters, Lillian Rogers and Anne Sciscio. She is lovingly survived by her son John Decker and his wife Denise (Dee), daughter, Jacquelyn "Jackie" Decker; her youngest son David Decker (Dog, Siggy) as well as several devoted nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Go as they lovingly called her. In her 90's, she learned how to text on her cell phone, and every day exchanged texts with her children, family and friends. During every Phillies game, you could find her constantly texting with her sons and her daughter's childhood friend Eileen. Texting reconnected her to the world and being a person who was always curious about the world, she loved the fact that when she had a question, all she had to do was "ask Google".

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Wednesday morning, August 27th from 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 27 Kresson-Gibbsboro Road, Gibbsboro, NJ where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Final committal services with military honors will take place following mass at the Camden County Veterans Cemetery at Harleigh, 1640 Haddon Avenue, Camden, NJ.
