Dicroce
Gloria (nee Filler). Beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Dicroce. Devoted mother of Joseph N., MD. (Marge), Robert and Richard (Karen), Loving grandmother of Lauren (Chris), Matthew, Adam, Jason, Alyssa, and Nadelyn. Great-grandmother of Remo. Sister of Alice (the late Dave) and John (Audrey), predeceased by Robert, Laura and Ruth. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Gloria grew up in Coaldale, PA. The town as named is historically a coal mining town. Though Gloria often had great stories about her and her siblings living in Coaldale, it was not in her heart to remain there after graduating from high school. Once she graduated, she lived in Philadelphia, PA where she attended the Methodist Hospital Nursing Program. She graduated in 1953. It was during this time, Gloria met the handsome and charming Joseph DiCroce. It wasn't long the two were married and had three sons each 2 years apart: Joseph, Robert and Richard. After the birth of their first son Joseph, they moved into the Packer Park Section of Philadelphia. Gloria was known as the skinny woman who was seen taking her kids around town in their strollers. Gloria did take some years off from working to raise her sons. Being a mother and caring for her home was something very dear to her heart. It wasn't until Rich went into high-school and her husband Joe was starting his own engineering firm that Gloria went back into nursing. She remained a nurse and later was promoted to the Utilization Department until her retirement. Once retired, she and Joe enjoyed visiting their sons and spending time with their grandchildren. Gloria enjoyed her morning coffee and doing word puzzles. She fought hard the last two years battling kidney cancer. She was always there for her family. She will be remembered as a kind and generous woman who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A life well lived.
Relatives and friends are invited to her VIEWING Saturday January 25, 2025 9:30AM-11AM followed by her funeral service at 11AM at The Monti-Rago Funeral Home 2531-35 S. Broad Street Philadelphia PA 19148. Int. New Saint Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to American Cancer Society 1818 Market St, Philadelphia, PA 19103.

Gloria was such a light and I greatly enjoyed our visits. She always made me laugh - even when she was rolling her eyes at me! She was truly one of a kind and will be fondly remembered. May happy memories bring you peace and comfort at this difficult time.

Warmly,

Lauren B
