Gloria Caroline Dohner passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by the warmth and love of her devoted husband, son, and daughter. Her gentle departure marks the end of a remarkable journey, and those who knew her will forever remember the grace and compassion she brought to every day.

Born on November 30, 1942, in Pueblo, Colorado, Gloria was the cherished daughter of John and Esther Sanchez. She grew up alongside her siblings, John, Phil and Linda Sanchez, and from a young age, exhibited an unwavering commitment to helping others. After graduating from high school, Gloria answered a higher calling by joining the United States Army.

Gloria attended Army medical school at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, where she cultivated the skills and empathy that would define her career. She was stationed at Fitzsimmons Army Base and served diligently as a nurse at General Hospital in Denver for two years. It was during her time in service that she met her husband, Harry W. Dohner. The two were united in marriage on October 10, 1963, and Gloria was honorably discharged that same year, embarking on a new chapter alongside her beloved husband.

Gloria and Harry settled in New Buffalo, Michigan, where they raised three children with devotion and care: Bernadette, William, and Natalie.

Continuing her journey of service, Gloria became a paramedic, providing comfort and aid to those in need within her community. When her children were grown, she found a new calling as a full-time interpreter, dedicating 20 years to assisting Spanish-speaking families at Tri-County Head start. Her efforts helped bridge cultures and foster understanding, and she continued her work part time for five more years, retiring at age 80.

Outside of her professional life, Gloria found joy in the simple pleasures of tending to her plants and flowers, admiring the beauty and serenity of birds, and spending cherished moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were dear to her heart.

Gloria's legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Esther Sanchez; her brother, Phil Sanchez; her sister, Linda Sanchez; grandson, Christopher Doyen; and her beloved daughter, Bernadette David. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, Harry W. Dohner; her brother, John Sanchez; son, William (Valerie) Dohner; her daughter, Natalie (Tom) Siebenmark; son-in-law, Tom David; Grandchildren, Tommy and Brandon (Tennille) David, Amanda (Keith) Herman, Nikki, Ethan, Liam (Michelle), Reed Dohner, Ryne Sr (Alecia), Nathan (Katlyn) Siebenmark; and greatgrandchildren, Gwen and Jack Herman, Ryne Jr. and Rylee Siebenmark.

Gloria was a beacon of kindness, devotion, and strength. Her life was a testament to the power of love and service, and her presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. As her family, friends, and community gather to honor her memory, may they find comfort in the legacy she leaves behind-a legacy rooted in compassion, resilience, and the boundless love of a remarkable woman.
