Gloria Avonne Dougherty (nee Cummings) of Broomall, PA, died peacefully at home on April 10th, 2025 at the age of 82.
She was born on May 20th, 1943 in Roxborough, PA to the late Andrew M. Cummings and Katherine E. Clayborne. She graduated from Lower Merion High School and went on to receive her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree and became a loving caretaker to many families over the years.
She was the beloved wife of the late William A. Dougherty and devoted mother of William J. Dougherty (the late Bobbi), Richard P. Dougherty (Patricia) and Mary Katherine Dougherty Stewart (Timothy). She is also survived by her loving sister, Margaret D. Cummings Finegan (the late Gerald), 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Gloria was predeceased by her sisters, Mae E. Cummings Hriczak (Michael), Catherine C. Cummings Falcone (Thomas) and Mary R. Cummings Woodring (Charles).
The family will receive guests on Monday, April 21st, 2025, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to The American Lung Association, 625 N Governor Printz Blvd # 2, Essington, PA 19029
