Gloria Erlinda Fernandez – 89
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Gloria Erlinda Fernandez, on January 3rd, 2026, a lifelong resident of Truchas, NM.
Gloria was born on September 16, 1936, to the late Amadeo and Demecia Romero Fernandez.
Gloria is preceded in death by:
Parents – Amadeo and Demecia Fernandez
Brother – Porfirio Fernandez
Sister – Pilar Fernandez Valverde
Nephew – Lionel Fernandez
Sister-in-Law – Lydia Fernandez
Her furr baby – her cat – Molly
And many relatives and friends.
Gloria is survived by:
Nieces – Debbie Fernandez & Family, Rita Montano & husband Chris & Family, & Lisa Lopez
Brother-in-Law – George Valverde
Best Friend – Irene Romero & Husband Lee & Family
Special babies she loved so much and so dearly – Adrian Trujillo, Aleah Trujillo, & Sierra Romero
Serving as Pallbearers:
Lee Romero Sr, Lee Romero Jr, George Sandoval, Gilbert Sandoval, Billy Romero, Manuel Salazar, Chris Montano, and Richard Guzman
Honorary Pallbearers:
Adrian Trujillo, Aleah Trujillo, and Sierra Romero
Gloria was a devoted Catholic and life long member of the Holy Rosary Church in Truchas, NM, and a life long member of the Morada de Nuestro Padre Jesus de Nazaren in Truchas, NM.
Gloria served as a devoted Holy Eucharist in her church for so many years and served her Morada with so much love. Gloria delivered communion to many elderly for many years until her health issues required her to step down from her obligation that she loved so much.
Services for Gloria Erlinda Fernandez are as follows;
Sunday January 18, 2026 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM.
Public viewing at 5:30pm
Rosary at 6:00pm
Funeral Services
Monday January 19, 2026 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Truchas, NM
Funeral Mass at 10:00 am
Followed by procession to Morada
Burial to follow: Los Romero’s Cemetery in Truchas, NM
