Gloria Hennes Obituary
Gloria Jean was born on March 2nd, 1940, in Tuscson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mildred Carroll; her brothers, Earl and Nova Carroll; and her beloved son, Mark Hennes.
Gloria Jean was a graduate of McNeill High School in McNeill, Mississippi. As a young woman she and her mother ran a café located on Highway 11 in Carriere, Mississippi. In 1955, Gloria Jean met the love of her life, Cecil Leroy Hennes, Jr., at a birthday party in Carriere and from there began their 70 year love story. They were married on December 23 rd , 1956 and lived in Poplarville, Mississippi where they both worked at the Movie Star Factory. They later made their home in Carriere where they raised their two boys, Mark and Darell. Gloria Jean was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and daughter. She cared faithfully for her home, husband and sons, and lovingly cared for her parents until their passing.
Gloria Jean was loved by her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who knew a visit to "Mawmaw's house" meant being welcomed with love and a special treat in her kitchen. She always made sure the little ones felt welcome and at home, keeping toys, crayons, and paper ready for them whenever they visited.
She found great joy in the simple moments of life, such as spending time with PawPaw, and watching football with family. She especially enjoyed riding around their property on their Kawasaki Mule to feed the fish in their pond, and enjoying an evening on the front porch swing.
Gloria Jean was also well known for her Thanksgiving dressing, a treasured recipe passed down from her grandmother. She and PawPaw took great pride in preparing it each year, and family members eagerly looked forward to gathering around the table to enjoy this special tradition made with love.
Gloria will be remembered for her love for Jesus, and devotion to PawPaw and her family. Her legacy lives on in the generations of family who were blessed by her care. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who knew her.
Left to honor her memory are her devoted husband, Cecil Leroy Hennes, Jr., her son, Darrell Hennes, Karen, widow of her son, Mark, her sister Scheryl Ng and a large and loving family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Michael (Andrea) Hennes, and their children, Christian, Cayleigh, Gracie, and Dannah; Jessica (Lee) Rigdon, and their son, Jaren; Patricia (Daren) Rodriguez, and their children, Karlee (Canaan) Logan, Ryder, Ransom, Kinzlee, and Ripken; Jacob (Lauren) Hennes, and their children, Carrigan and Lochlan; and Makayla (Trevor) Thompson, and their children, Reed and Indy. She also leaves behind her sisters and brothers-in- law as well as numerous nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

My Sweet Aunt,
I have so many beautiful memories in the house you and Uncle built. I can still see Jacob and me pretending to be Karate Kid in the living room, playing for hours on that floor that held so much laughter. At night, I would listen to you and Mom talk for hours about the good old days, your voices carrying warmth through the house.
I always think about how you call mom your baby girl because you would tell a story about how she was so tiny you had to get her little baby doll dresses for her to wear. How my hearth aches for mom as she will miss you dearly, her sweet sister.
My heart aches knowing I never told you how much you looked like Grandma. In so many ways, you became another grandparent to me. Your home was always full of warmth, comfort, and laughter.
I can still picture sitting at the table while Uncle made some new "crazy" food he was suddenly obsessed with, and you sitting there with your head resting in your hand, just shaking it with that familiar look. Those moments were everything.
Thank you for loving me since I was a baby. Thank you for always asking about me, for caring, for being there in all the quiet ways that mattered most.

My heart hurts, but I find peace knowing you are with Grandma, Grandpa, Mark, and my Dad. Until we meet again, Aunt Gloria Jean.
