Gloria Ann (Borecky) Ipsen was born on January 26, 1948, the daughter of Allen D. and Edna (Yarbrough) Borecky in Crawford County, Iowa. She was baptized and later confirmed into the Baptist faith. Gloria received her education from Denison High School.

Gloria married Arthur “Yogi” Ipsen on February 27, 1966, at the United Church of Christ in Schleswig and the couple was blessed with two sons, Michael and Jamie. In her earlier years, she enjoyed gardening and taking her dog, Peppy to the grocery store. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Gloria passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, at Fonda Specialty Care in Fonda, Iowa at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 15 days.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur “Yogi” Ipsen; nephew, Aaron Borecky; and an infant brother. She is survived by her two sons: Michael (Valerie) Ipsen of Schleswig and Jamie Ipsen (Annie Bode) of Schleswig; six grandchildren: Nathaniel (Jaime) Harden of Council Bluffs, Lucas Ipsen of Fort Dodge, Kassidy (Yovan) Cardenas of Denison, Olivia Ipsen of Schleswig, Jagger Ipsen of Schleswig and Rylan Ipsen of Schleswig; great-grandchildren: Ava, Mila, Nora, Alice, Giovanni and Victoria; siblings: Roger (Ursula) Borecky of Denison and Steve Borecky of Dunlap; and many other relatives and friends.  

 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2024, at the Huebner Funeral Home in Schleswig. A private funeral service will be held at the United Church of Christ and interment will take place in the Morgan Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
