Gloria J. Jackson, a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away on December 18, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on June 26, 1950, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was the daughter of Arlo and Alice Fanning and a proud graduate of Clarksville High School. Gloria's path through life was marked by the love she cultivated for her family, as she dedicated herself to being a stay-at-home mom and wife, taking great pride in nurturing her loved ones.
Gloria is remembered fondly by her husband of 55 years, Lowell Gene Jackson, Jr. Together, they built a life rich with love, laughter, and countless memories. Her children, Patrick Arlo Jackson, Sr., Janie Jackson and Carrie (Sean) Dyson, were the light of her life. Gloria's heart swelled with pride as she watched her family grow, and she was an adoring grandmother to Kimberly (Sean) Middleton, Shavona Schiermeier, Trevor Jackson, Sean Dyson, Patrick A. Jackson, Jr., Ethan Jackson, and Gabby Bennett.
Gloria's life extended beyond her immediate family; she held a deep affection for her sister, Shirley (Carl) Dailey, and embraced her numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins with warmth and generosity. She cared deeply for the children at her church and cherished the time she spent with them, sharing her love and guidance.
Her vibrant spirit shone through in everything she did-whether it was dancing to her favorite tunes, traveling to sunny Florida for family trips, or simply enjoying quiet moments with her loved ones. Gloria's compassion and kindness were evident to all who crossed her path, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire those who knew her.
She now joins her beloved daughter, Janie Jackson, and her siblings, including her brother Arlo Fanning, Jr., and sisters Darlene Rama, Wanda Earl, and Geraldine, in eternal peace.
