Gloria W. LaPointe, 98, of Plattsburgh passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 14th, 1926, the daughter of Charles Harvey and Evelyn Madon. She married the love of her life, Howard LaPointe on September 16, 1950.
Gloria had a deep love for her family. Gloria loved to go to work. She worked her longest job for over thirty years at the Plattsburgh State bookstore where she formed many special friendships. Gloria was a woman of faith and ensured that church was at the center of her and her family's life. She was a loyal parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church and she would be sure to never miss a Sunday service. In her free time, she loved to spend time with her family and close friends. She loved to go out to breakfast, have a fresh cup of coffee, go on Sunday drives and would never say no to a trip to Talbots.
She is survived by her daughter, Holly Pellerin and her husband David, her son, Joseph LaPointe and his wife Karen; her grandchildren, Sarah Pellerin and her husband Brandon, Mark Pellerin and his wife Ashley, Kyle Pellerin and his partner Skylar, Alyssa LaPointe and her partner Pat, Todd LaPointe and his wife Jill, Benjamin LaPointe and his wife Jessica; her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Emmalene, Connor, Jordan, Morgan, Bobby, Savannah, Emery, Benjamin; several nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Barb Fuller, Gail Bradley, Gail Roushia, Kathy Adams and Donna Harvey.
She is predeceased by her parents, her four siblings and her husband of 64 years, Howard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's the Baptist Church with Father Kevin officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made out to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
