Gloria Jean McClain

Gloria Jean McClain, 75, of Versailles, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 6, 1950, in Versailles to the late Ervin and Margaret Manley, Jean lived a life defined by faith, family, and quiet grace. She was baptized at Southland Christian Church and carried her faith proudly, embodying kindness and strength through every season of life. For 49 beautiful years, she shared her heart and her home with her soulmate and husband, Alan McClain. Jean found pure joy in the simple things-tending to her flowers, working in her garden, and marveling at the beauty of nature. Yet, her truest peace came from the beach, especially the tranquil shores of Myrtle Beach, where she and Alan spent countless sunsets together, hand in hand. Jean worked for the Woodford County Board of Education at Southside Elementary School as a custodian showing love and kindness to generations of children throughout Woodford County.
Gloria leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her husband, Alan McClain of Versailles; her son, Steven (Stacy) McClain of Versailles; her sister, Sue Manley of Versailles; and her brothers, Irvin (Teri) Manley and Bruce (Cathy) Manley, both of Versailles. She also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Noah and Autumn Creech, who brought her endless joy, a special nephew, Brad Jones, and a special caring and loving sister-in-law, Beverly Walling along with a host of beloved family and friends who will forever treasure her memory. In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Tara Beth McClain. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort knowing she is reunited in Heaven with Tara and wrapped in the eternal peace of the Lord she so faithfully served.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 pm until 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Blackburn and Ward Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 on Saturday, October 25, 2025 following the visitation officiated by Pastor Jeremiah Johnson. Burial will be held at 2:00 pm at Rosecrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alan McClain, Steven McClain, Brad Jones and John Walling.
