Gloria Mitchell Monreal

Gloria Mitchell Monreal (née Yimm), age 75, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, in Bakersfield, California at the home of her daughter Shirley Salazar and Son in law Mike Salazar. Surrounded by her daughter and Granddaughters. Born on January 15, 1950, Bakersfield California, Gloria lived a vibrant and full life marked by her charisma, warmth, and deep love for her family.
Gloria was the beloved daughter of Don Sing Yimm and Audie Louise Mitchell. She grew up alongside her siblings, including her brother Donald Yimm and sister Gwynlee Hawley (Yimm), who preceded her in death. Gloria later in life made a home of Tucson, Arizona where she married Antonio Robles Monreal Jr, with whom she shared a life filled with love and family until his passing.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Shirley Eileen Salazar and son Antonio R. Monreal lll. Her legacy continues through countless grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. Gloria also held a special place in her heart for her Granddaughter Marina Salazar who cared for her from the beginning of her dementia till she took her last breath peacefully at home.
Those who knew Gloria will remember her as a fun-loving but also stern and feisty women with an infectious spirit guaranteed to make you love her. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life-spending time outdoors on her property in Tucson with her horse Dutchess and pup Little Shit. When she wasn't hanging out on her property, she loved a good bargain, and Antiques were a happy past time for her. Whether enjoying the fresh air or visiting casinos for a bit of excitement, Gloria embraced life with enthusiasm and laughter. Above all else, she cherished time spent with family, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.
