Gloria Dawn Preuss, 69, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 29, 2025. Gloria was born on March 7, 1956, in Toledo, Ohio. She was the daughter of Jack and Bettie (Fuller) Nearhood. Gloria was a 1974 graduate of Bedford High School. She married Jeffrey O. Preuss on February 16, 1978. Gloria was employed by the Chrysler Jeep Corporation for 34 years, retiring in 2008. She was an avid Michigan Wolverines fan, and also enjoyed camping, swimming, gardening, and spending time at the lake house.
She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Jeffrey; children, Maegan (Antonio) Sofo, and Jason Preuss; brother, Michael Nearhood; sisters, Cheryl (Buddy) Ward, Bonnie (Thomas) Stone, and Barbara (Glenn) Hojnacki; grandchildren, Spencer, Griffin, and Parker Preuss. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman), Temperance, Michigan, where funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Bedford Memorial Cemetery. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the care given to Gloria.
