Gloria A. Ruiz, 84, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
Gloria was born in Panama City, Panama on February 24, 1939. She graduated from high school at the Instituto Panamericano de Panama. Later Gloria married the love of her life Francisco Ruiz in 1958 and together they traveled extensively as he served in the United States Army for the next 20 years.
After Francisco retired from the US Army they settled in Texas and Gloria worked for The Texas Department of Criminal Justice for over 25 years. In the meantime, Gloria had a deep passion for taking care of dogs and cats and had numerous pets throughout the years.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband Franciso. They had been married for 58 years. Gloria leaves behind two sons; Frank and Perry Ruiz, eight grandchildren, two dogs; Gayle and Oprah and one bird.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 5:00 – 8:00pm with a Prayer Service at 6:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Dr. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 1:00pm also at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast with the Committal Service following at 2:30pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
