Gloria Jeane Hokenson Sampson
February 26, 1940 – December 31, 2023
Gloria was born to the late Merien C. Hokenson and Marguerite L. Hokenson on February 26, 1940, in Yuma, Arizona. She shares her February 26 birthdate with her beloved husband, Richard Kent Sampson. She is a graduate of Holton High School in Holton, Kansas, and beauty school in Topeka, Kansas. Gloria and Kent moved to Colorado in 1960. They built a very successful manufacturing company: Value Plastics, Inc. They eventually settled in the Fort Collins, Colorado, area by 1977.
Gloria and Kent were married for 65 years and had a loving, beautiful relationship. She is survived by her husband, Richard Kent Sampson (known as Kent); brother Glenn Hokenson; and five children, Marcia Coulson (William), Delia Andrews (Anthony), Vicki Rainsberger (Michael), James Sampson (Elizabeth) and Lyle Sampson (Linda); eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and four step-great-grandchildren.
When Gloria stayed at home, she enjoyed reading and sewing. Gloria and Kent preferred to be at work or traveling. They liked just going for a drive or going out to eat. She liked visiting with friends and family, and she adored children and dogs.
Gloria was a kind, poised, beautiful and classy lady. All who knew or met her were enriched by the experience.
