In loving memory of Carol Jean "CJ" Rasmussen

CJ- Beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, passed away peacefully in her home in Springville, UT, surrounded by her loved ones on August 15, 2025, due to complications of dementia.

She is the eldest daughter of Alvin and Jean Halverson & was born on April 22, 1939, in Glendale, California.

Carol Jean later moved with her parents to Sunland/Tujunga, CA where she attended jr high & high school at Verdugo Hills High. It was there that she met the man who became the love of her life, Mike Rasmussen. She graduated high school & married Mike in 1957. They made their home in Southern California.

In 1970, after having 4 children, they moved to Boulder, CO where they had 2 more children. They moved to Berthoud, CO, in 1977, where they had 2 more children. CJ's dream of having a large family was coming true.

Tragically, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mike Rasmussen, in May 1985. In the years following Mike's death, she lived in Salt Lake City, Utah area, but lived the majority of her remaining years in Fort Collins, CO. Her final year was lived with family in Springville, Utah.

CJ is also preceded in death by both of her parents and her sisters, Katy and Kristen. As well as, many beloved friends and family members, all of whom she called her "Angels on the Other Side".

Carol Jean, "CJ" is survived by the even larger family she wanted, but didn't know would be quite so large:

Her children; Dana Rasmussen, Perry Rasmussen (Sara), Jill Harris (Chad), Toby Rasmussen (Mandy), Jean-Marie Juergensen (Pete), Casey Rasmussen (Jes), and Cody Boone Rasmussen.

Her brother John Halverson (Annette).

CJ's Grand children; Joshua (Kim), Tyler (Ann), Alex, Kyle (Carissa), Weston (Shayla), Camren (Delaney), Katrina (Jon), Tayson, Chayden (Aleana), Teagon (Abby), Karali, Treyton, Jaron, Mikenna (Katie), Brielle, Gage, Titus, Marley, Anabel, and Arliss

AND 15 great grand children!

Carol Jean was primarily a homemaker and always took great pride in her abilities as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a trained cosmetologist, a skilled thrift shopper, a lover of dance- many genre's (especially loving 1990's country swing).

She loved to dance with her husband. We are certain they are dancing away together now.

She liked to make her home and herself look pretty.

CJ was very patriotic. She loved her country!

Her faith in the Lord kept her strong through all the ups and downs of life.

CJ lived her life loving others, especially her family whom she adored.

She could tell a story and captivate her audience with her humor and vibrant enthusiasm! She lived well, loved unconditionally and laughed hard!

The world lost a ray of sunshine, but gained as an eternal friend.

CJ always believed that "Good-bye's" are only temporary. So, in that vain, we will use one of her favorite sayings…

"Bye, for now!"
