Gloria Hernandez Simental

Gloria Hernandez Simental, 76, was born April 24,1949, in Durango Mexico. She passed away September 26, 2025.

Gloria was the youngest of 11 children. She moved to Wichita Falls, Texas to make a better life for her and her kids. She's worked as a housekeeper, at a Levi Jean factory and restaurants. In 1990, she moved to Garden City, Kansas and began working at Monfort for many years until she got hurt and retired. She loved to spend time with her family, she was so silly at times, she loved to color, eat, and cook. She will be truly missed.

She is survived by her husband- Aniceto Hernandez; Her daughter- Claudia and her 3 kids, Drew, Johnny, and Selena; Her son- Johnny and Erica and their 5 children, Jonathan, Joseph, Jason, Esella and Jr; Her son Julian Joe Garza and his 4 kids, Marcus, Yasmin, Jacob and Alyssa; Her grandson- Kennan Gonzales and 13 Great-Grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her parents Juan Hernandez and Andrea Hernandez and her son Javier Gonzales.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. A rosary will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 12:00 pm followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm both at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City with Rev. Jacob Schneider officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. Family suggests memorials be given to Gloria Hernandez Simental memorial fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
