Julio Simental Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hawker Funeral Home - Blackfoot on Dec. 18, 2025.
In Loving Memory
Born on April 12, 1961, in Colonia Emiliano Zapata, Guanajuato, Mexico, Julio Miguel Varela lived a life rooted in hard work, devotion, and deep love for family. On December 13, 2025, he passed away peacefully at home, surrounded his wife, his children, and his grandchildren-wrapped in love until his final breath.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Varela Balandran and Jovita Simental Padilla, whose values of perseverance and family he carried with him throughout his life.
From the rose fields of Mexico-where he once owned a business growing long, beautiful rows of roses-to his many years in commercial cleaning and his job at Ridley's, he was a man who took pride in honest work.
He found joy in the simple things-going to the casino, fishing but nothing compared to the joy of being a husband, father, and grandfather. He loved being surrounded by his children and lived for his grandchildren. There was nothing he enjoyed more than attending their games, cheering loudly from the stands, and supporting them in everything they did. He was their biggest fan.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Ma Lucia Caudillo, his partner in life. He also leaves his children, Juana Sánchez, Adrián Varela, Rita Castilleja, Cruz Varela, Sharon Valle, Claudia Varela, and Anahí Varela, who will carry his strength, lessons, and love forward.
His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Angel Sanchez, Victor Sanchez, Aaliyah Sanchez, Alyssa Castilleja, Elisabeth Varela, Alyna Castilleja, Jayden Varela, Jonathan Varela, Emily Castilleja, Angel Castilleja, and Hannah Valle-each one a piece of his heart.
He was a man of family, faith, and quiet strength. His life was not loud, but it was full. Full of love. Full of sacrifice. Full of moments that will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
