Gloria Marie Tarvin

Gloria Marie Tarvin (nee Lovelace), 93, formerly of Grant's Lick, KY, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Brookside Health Care Center, Cincinnati, OH, under the care of Dignity Care Partners. She was born May 26, 1932, in Caddo, KY. Gloria was a member of Grant's Lick Baptist Church, active in WMU, she and her husband also supported the Southern Baptist Convention. Gloria was a member of the church choir and known throughout the community for her gift of song. When Billy Graham brought his crusade to Cincinnati, Gloria was a member of his choir. She also worked tirelessly for 18 years as a volunteer, aiding the elderly, at the Baptist Home in Newport, KY. A fervent Republican, a dedicated American she served as a Voting Pole Volunteer for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John D. Tarvin; two children, Charles Edwin Tarvin and Glenda Kay Pfefferman; eight siblings: Clarence "Shike" Lovelace, Elmer Lovelace, Ralph "Jake" Lovelace, Stanley "Cotton" Lovelace, Herbert Lovelace, Mary Kline, Mildred Warren and Louise Schof. Gloria is survived by a daughter-in-law, Bernadette Tarvin, a son-in-law, Jim Pfefferman; four grandchildren:Eric John Tarvin, Charles Brandon Tarvin (Christie), Jamie Pfefferman (Connie) and Victoria Stewart (Chris); twelve great grandchildren, fifteen great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Grant's Lick Baptist Church, 941 Clay Ridge Road, Alexandria, KY 41001 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment in the Oakland Cemetery, Grant's Lick, KY.
