Gloria Anderson Varner

Gloria Anderson Varner passed away gently into her heavenly home on December 15, 2025. Gloria was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 5, 1928 to Frank and Rosa Anderson. She was married to her beloved Lee Varner for 53 years before he predeceased her in 2018. Her parents, brother Joseph Anderson, sister Betty Anne, and nephew David Anderson, also predeceased her.

Gloria took great pride in her long and successful thirty five year career with Bowater Paper Company in Atlanta where she developed lasting business friendships with wonderful colleagues. Gloria enjoyed staying in touch with so many of them over the years after her retirement in 1992. Following her retirement, Lee and she moved full time to Lake Lanier where they became part of the Buford and Sugar Hill communities. Gloria took pride in the Buford Lanier Woman's Club, and Gloria and Lee drew great support and Christian community from their wonderful friends at Church On The Hill (SHUMC).

Gloria is survived by her niece Sandy Anderson Stewman and husband Paul of Charlotte, North Carolina, step son Christopher (Chip) and wife Theresa of Reno, Nevada, step son Charles (Chuck) and wife Nancy of New Bern, North Carolina, great nephew Todd Stewman of Austin, Texas, and great niece Shana Stewman Ashworth of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Gloria's family is most appreciative for the care and love that Mariana Moldovan and her team at Angels Garden Senior Community in Dacula, Georgia, provided Gloria over the past few years.

Private services are to be held at a future date.
