Gloria Iona (Hendricks) Wells passed on August 14, 2025 in her home in Point at the age of 92.
Born April 28, 1933 in Texas, she married Charles Lamar Wells in 1953. Her two sons, Robert and Milton, were her pride and joy.
After Lamar passed away in 1986, she spent her time visiting friends and family, participating in and supporting her community, and worked as a cafeteria worker and bus driver for Miller Grove ISD.
She loved “her babies”, which included her children, grandchildren, and the children she served at school.
She volunteered at the Rains County library, sat with sick friends, and loved to travel- visiting all the lower 48 states- earning the nickname “Granny Go-Go” from her grandchildren, who could only guess at her whereabouts until she sent a postcard.
She was a strong personality, sometimes to the dismay of those who knew her, which made her laugh, and had a natural charisma that often left others wondering how they got talked into whatever shenanigans she had planned.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, daughters-in-law Mitzi Wells and Aleta Wells, six grandchildren, extended relations, and numerous great grandchildren. Services will be at Wilson’s funeral home on August 25 at 3:00 PM.
