Gloria M. Werkheiser, 93 of Lower Nazareth Township, PA, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at her home. Born May 22, 1931, in Nazareth, PA, she was the daughter of the late Truman Marsh and the late Hattie (Billheimer) Marsh. She was the wife of the late Reynold A. "Ray" Werkheiser, who passed away in May 1994.
Gloria was a 1948 graduate of Nazareth High School and was last employed as the church secretary for Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, Allentown, PA for 19 years until retiring in 1989. Prior to, she worked in the same capacity for Lone Star Cement, Nazareth, from 1948 to 1957. Gloria was a member of St. John's U.C.C., Nazareth, PA, where she was a past Sunday School teacher, member of the former Good News Task Force, and member of the Flowers and Greetings committee. Gloria was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, CALYPSO Chapter #163, Bethlehem, PA.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary K., wife of Robert Zartler, Jr., of Brodheadsville, PA and Carol A., wife of L. Rick Hilborn of Nazareth, PA; 4 granddaughters; Lauren, wife of Jordan Culp, Nicole, wife of Bruce Englert, Jr., Ariane, wife of Wyatt Peinhardt, and Heather Zartler. 2 great-grandchildren, Landon and Audrianna.
A private funeral service will be held for family. The Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 E. Center St. Nazareth, PA 18064 has been entrusted with her care and services. Her Interment will be in Hope Cemetery, Hecktown, Lower Nazareth, PA.
Contributions: May be made in her memory to St. John's U.C.C. Church memorial fund, c/o 183 S. Broad St. Nazareth, PA 18064.
