Gloria Wolf Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Spotswood Funeral Home - Spotswood on Dec. 17, 2025.
Gloria Wolf, 84, of Aberdeen, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Gloria settled in Aberdeen in 1995 to be near her children. She retired in 2011 after more than 30 years as an administrative assistant with Lord, Abbett and Company, LLC of Jersey City. Gloria enjoyed playing the game "words with friends" on her Ipad, watching Judge Judy, get-togethers, spending time with her friends - some of them lifelong friends - her family, her grandchildren, her grand-dogs, Scotch and Yogi and, most recently, an occasional espresso martini. Throughout her life, Gloria was known and admired for many of her strengths, however, cooking was not one of them. She knew it and she accepted it.

Gloria is survived by her children, Nancy Lewental and her husband, Mark and Scott Wolf and, her grandchildren, William, Alyssa and Adam.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, December 17th at New Montefiore Cemetery, West Babylon, New York, under the direction of Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, Spotswood, NJ.

After hurricane Sandy, when mass transit to Jersey City wasn't running, I drove Gloria and myself to work each day. Those rides were filled with laughter and conversation. One evening, a major accident on the Turnpike turned our commute into a 4-hour journey home. As always, Gloria was prepared, her purse full of snacks and candy, making sure we made it home safely and well fed. She truly always had everything she needed and was forever ready for any emergency.
I will miss her terribly. I will miss my annual wonderfully long birthday messages with singing "Happy Birthday." Most of all, I will miss the joy and laughter that came so naturally with every conversation with her. Gloria was one of a kind and I will always remember the joy she gave me.
