Glorianne "Glory" Shew

Glorianne "Glory" M. Shew, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025, in Bay City, Michigan. Born on June 6, 1937, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Everett and June Gable, Glory lived a life marked by passion, generosity, and a deep commitment to her family and community.
Glory grew up in Detroit with her loving siblings Gary, Gayle, Glenda, Glea, and Leanne. Her life was one of both joy and sorrow, having been preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Richard, her cherished daughter Terri Ann, and her dear sister Glenda. Yet, through all of life's ebbs and flows, Glory's spirit remained indomitable.
In 2004, after years of dedication and hard work, Glory and her husband retired as the owners of Crystal Pathways. Her professional life was a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit and her ability to touch the lives of those she encountered. Glory's passion extended beyond her career as she found solace and purpose in her role as a Reiki master. She generously shared her healing talents with others, bringing comfort and peace to many.
Glory's creative talents were manifold. She was an excellent seamstress, a skill she lovingly poured into making clothes for her children when they were young and culminating in the creation of her daughter's wedding dress. Her artistic touch and attention to detail were evident in every stitch and seam.
A nature enthusiast, Glory found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished the moments spent feeding and watching birds, with hummingbirds holding a special place in her heart. These small, vibrant creatures seemed to reflect Glory's own zest for life and her ability to find happiness in the beauty of the world around her.
Glory's legacy is carried on by her devoted children, Gary (Kathy) Shew, Larry Shew, and Sheri Jo (Tim) Chritz. She was a proud grandmother to Jason (Melissa), Justin (Moe), Koryn (Andy), Tiffany (Kyle), Alan (Brandee), and Chelsea (Derek) and a loving great-grandmother to Lexus, Ian, Ava, Elliot, Jolie, Luke, and Keaton. Each of them will forever cherish the memories and the lessons imparted by their beloved matriarch.
Those who knew Glory would describe her as a loving and passionate soul, always putting others before herself. Her selfless nature was the cornerstone of her character, and it shone brightly through every act of kindness and every moment of support she provided to those around her.
