On December 31, 2022, Godofredo G. Goicochea, 70, of Jarrettsville, passed away peacefully; cherished father of Aimee Goicochea-Barbosa and her husband Muriel Barbosa; beloved grandfather of Lydia, Bailey, Jeremiah, Gieno, Johnnie; proud great grandfather of McKenna; dear brother of Segundo Goicochea, Vilma Goicochea, Nelly Goicochea, Aida Cruzado, Elsi Goicochea, and the late Aurelio Goicochea and Luis Goicochea; caring brother in law of Andrea Goicochea and Kathy Goicochea.
Born to Aida Graciela Caballero and Segundo Felipe Goicochea, the youngest of 8 siblings, Godito was loved and adored by his entire family. Family was what he lived and breathed for. He had a lifelong passion for the game of soccer and the soccer field has always been his home away from home. From his years of playing, coaching his daughter and grandchildren, supporting them from the sidelines, to his most recent years staying active as a referee official, he found fulfillment on the field.
Known by his closest loved ones as Papi, his affection, generosity, care, unconditional love, and support will forever be etched in our hearts. His sense of humor, acts of kindness, simple lifestyle, positive attitude, and gift to connect with others set him apart from the rest. He touched many people's lives.
Family and friends will honor GG's life, with a visitation at St. Mary's Pylesville – 1021 St. Mary's Road, Pylesville, 21132, on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 9AM – 10:30AM, where a service will take place at 10:30AM, interment at St. Mary's Pylesville Cemetery to follow.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Godofredo's memory to Maryknoll Missions.
