Goebel Leonard Deatherage, 64, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood. He was born February 5, 1961, in Covington, the son of the late Albert Deatherage and Glenda Ballinger Deatherage. He was a 1979 graduate of Simon Kenton High School, a member of Visalia Baptist Church, and an avid hunter and fisherman with family and friends. He is survived by his life partner of 40 years, Angela Lucas; sister Kathi Barton (Sonny); Patty Bowlin (Gregg); and brother Granville Deatherage. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret Whitaker (Jack) and Robert Dunn, and his daughter, Michelle Smith. Visitation will be Monday, July 21, 2025, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Chapel A, from 5-7 pm, and a graveside service Tuesday, 11 AM at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Kenton County ASPCA and Cincinnati Childrens Hospital. Floral Hills is honored to serve the Deatherage family.
