Goldie Ann (Wells) Duckworth

June 13, 1936 – November 28, 2025

Goldie Ann Duckworth, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 28, 2025. Born on June 13, 1936, in Spokane, Washington, she was the daughter of Mae McKenzie and Oscar Wells. Goldie was the fifth of eight children.

In June of 1953, Goldie married the love of her life, Lawrence James Duckworth, in Yakima, WA. As an Army wife, Goldie embraced a life of constant movement and adventure. She supported Lawrence through many postings, creating a loving home wherever the military sent them. Through every change and challenge, Goldie's steady spirit and unwavering love anchored her family.

Together, Goldie and Lawrence raised eight children: Margaret (Hugh) Caulfield of Lacey, WA; Allen Duckworth of Tenino, WA; Warren Duckworth of Ocean Shores, WA; Janet (David) Smetzler of Tenino, WA; Janice Tobin of Rochester, WA; Paula (Randy) Durga of Olympia, WA; Theresa Iselin of Tenino, WA; and Lorraine (Jonathan) Burke of Minneapolis, MN.

Goldie was blessed with a large and loving family, including 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Nothing brought her more joy than watching her family grow.

She will be remembered for her gentle smile, her quiet strength, and the love she poured into everyone around her. Goldie's legacy lives on in her family and in the countless lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey.

A celebration of her life will be held on December 19th, where her family will gather to honor the extraordinary woman she was.
