Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crippen & Flynn Woodside Chapel (FD879) on Nov. 25, 2025.
Golfredo "Dolf" Dini passed on the morning of November 15, 2025, at the age of 91. Dolf was born in South San Francisco on June 27, 1934, to immigrants from Lucca, Italy: Achille and Angela (Arrighi) Dini.
A graduate of South San Francisco High School, Dolf soon commenced his long career with the phone company, then operating as the Bell System. Dolf's career was interrupted for his military service in the Korean Theater 1955-57. Due to his phone company lineman experience, Dolf was quickly promoted to sergeant so that he could supervise projects rebuilding the Korean communications system. While serving, Dolf played baseball for the Eighth Army team and managed the officers' tennis club in Japan. After retiring from Pacific Bell in 1987, Dolf began a second career as a construction inspector for the City of Saratoga. Dolf had a very strong work ethic and sound investment instincts.
Dolf married Jeannine (Sekulich) Dini in September 1964 and the couple had two sons, Michael and Christopher. Dolf and Jeannine shared a long, happy marriage. Jeannine passed in 2010.
After moving to Woodside in 1974, Dolf became interested in Western horseback riding and later became a member of The San Mateo County Mounted Patrol and other local horseman groups. Dolf lived a vigorous, athletic life. Around the age of forty, Dolf's interest in tennis renewed and the sport became his obsession. He played several times weekly until his health began diminishing at the end of 2024. Dolf enjoyed driving and caring for his motor vehicles, and he owned many classics throughout his life. He also enjoyed dining out with family and friends. Dolf continued to live independently, drive, and dine out until the end of 2024.
Dolf was predeceased by his parents, siblings Lawrence and Delia Romani, father in law Paul Sekulich, mother in law Minerva Sekulich, and brothers in law Alfonse "Sonny" Laura and Paul "Chum" Sekulich. Dolf is survived by his sons, their wives Erin and Deborah, and grandchildren Brendon, Robert, Gianna, and Paul; in laws Judy (Sekulich) Laura, Pam Sekulich, and John and Joyce Sekulich; nieces/nephews Julie Laura, Dante Laura, Richard Laura, Nick Sekulich, Cherie Sekulich, John Paul Sekulich, and Eric Sekulich; great nieces/nephews Mara (Sekulich) Rider, Paeli Sekulich, Dante Santiago Laura, Roman Sekulich, and Heidi Sekulich; and great-great niece Charlotte Rider.
