Gordon C. "Gordy" Ferrill, 61, of Ridley Park, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2024.
Born on January 7, 1963, he was raised in Southwest Philadelphia by Elizabeth and Roscoe Adams.
Gordy dedicated 20 years of his life as a custodian at Harley Manor, where he was known for his hard work and friendly demeanor. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan-Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, Sixers-he loved them all. In his younger days, he could frequently be found at McCresh Playground basketball court.
Gordy was a wonderful person, known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering positivity. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued, always ready with a smile or a helping hand. His warmth and compassion touched the lives of many, and his presence brought joy to those around him.
Gordy valued family time and cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He enjoyed family gatherings, where his laughter and stories would light up the room. His dedication to his family was evident in the way he supported and cared for them, making sure everyone felt loved and appreciated. Gordy loved Pepsi and was always enthusiastic about supporting his favorite teams and family.
Gordy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his four siblings, Steven (Michelle) Ferrill, Linda (Brian) Brady, Martin (Maura) Ferrill, and Larry (Lily) Ferrill; blended siblings Deborah Dougherty, Joseph Street, Regina Street, Christine Daly and Donna Jean Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend his Viewing from 9-10 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Cavanagh Family Funeral Homes, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood, where a Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM. Interment will be private.
