Gordon Mason McCullough, 81, passed peacefully, August 14, 2024, in Coppell, TX. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Carole (Clark), and adoring family: children, Elizabeth McCullough, Teresa (Chad) Lytle, Michael McCullough (Trish), Lisa McCullough, Stephanie (Joe) Williams; grandchildren, Miranda McCullough, David McCullough-Cary (Hailey), Ashton Williams, Ava Williams; great grandchildren, Madisonlynn McCullough, Emma McCullough, Brayden McCullough; and brother, Jimmy McCullough (Pascale).
Mason's passing was preceded by his father, Capt. Cecil Gordon McCullough (WW II, Flying Tigers, China, and Delta Airlines); his mother, Fay Virginia "G G" (Townsend) McCullough; and loving daughter, Michelle McCullough.
Mason was born November 1, 1942, in Sacramento, CA. He received his high school diploma from the "I AM" School in Santa Fe, NM. At the School he excelled in civic leadership, choir and piano, playing often for school and church events.
Mason attained a Masters Degree in Project Management. He was employed 20 years by Trencor-Jetco, overseas shipping of giant trenchers for Middle East oil/gas; and more recently, ten years at Mustang Engineering, managing oil/gas equipment procurement and worksite setup.
Mason was an active member, 40 years, at the Plymouth Park United Methodist Church and choir in Irving, TX. His great love in the Irving community was coaching girls fastpitch softball at Southwest Park in Irving, for decades, taking his teams to nationals, and also setting up athletic scholarships for the girls, one of whom played on the U.S. Olympic Team overseas.
Wherever in life Mason was, he was noted for his kindness, professionalism and genuine caring, especially for his extended family. For this, he is especially missed.
A Memorial Celebration of Mason's life will be held Sat., Sept. 14, 2024 at 1 p.m., Plymouth Park United Methodist Church, 1615 W. Airport Fwy, Irving, TX 75062. All are welcome. Reception to follow.
